Flowers and even fruit are only the beginning. In the seed lies the life and the future.

oh, your broccoli seedling is so bright and happy! I spent much of yesterday afternoon starting seeds with my 4.5 year old daughter, and we did about 30 broccoli plants. I’m hoping to have a real crop this year for the first time ever, my determination fueled by the insane price for organic broccoli in the store, and the doubly insane number of miles it travels to get to my table!
oh, and I’m here via Future House…
off to explore more of your posts…

They are so pretty, I never realized that they have such detailed foliage.

Kelly–thanks for stopping by! I can imagine gardening with a 4.5-year-old would be a lot of fun…I’m guessing not overly tidy, but fun.
Kristi–I don’t think I did, either. I grew some broccoli plants last year but I don’t really remember their beginning stages because I started them outdoors. Also, this is Sorrento sprouting broccoli, so it may or may not be different from the regular heading kind.
